About Me

I never gave much thought to blogging. I don't do diaries. But life is good to document. It is where lessons are learned and understanding is discovered. When the opportunity was given to me to pursue a life-long dream of a large home renovation, the Lord spoke to me about starting a blog. He wanted me to have a place to document our work and HIS work. So with that in mind, I trust you will enjoy walking the journey with me. My desire is that you will see HIS hand prints on my life and the things I touch. This is the joy for which I've been created.

My Roots:
I grew up in New Holland, Pennsylvania, with loving parents, a brother and sister. It was a good old country upbringing where church and family was priority. I attended a small rural grade school, played with neighborhood friends and took long bike rides on country roads lined with corn fields. After graduating from Lancaster Mennonite, I secured a job at a local Christian Bookstore in the Arts & Crafts department. This job fed my creativity and I was quite content.

Out on my own:
A few years later, I joined a YES team which took me to Scotland for 6 months of discipleship school with YWAM and 3 months of outreach in Germany. It is during this time that I met my husband, Keith.
We became best friends with common vision and passion, marrying on a hot summer day in 1984. After Keith graduated from college, we settled back into Lancaster County and started a family as he happily worked for Eastern Mennonite Missions focusing on discipleship and evangelism.

God blessed us with 3 children and I became God's student in the school of motherhood.                (1992)
I chose to homeschool during the early years enabling us move and travel as a family without fear of uprooting tender children. We had many adventures around the world as a family and I am so thankful for my dear ones and all the memories.

Next steps:
Children grow up quickly.                   (2010)

Now as each one is independent, I have more personal time to look inward. At age 50, I have new energy and vision for the future. While it involves my husband, my children, church and community...it also involves discovering what God planted deep inside of me at birth. I look forward to embracing all that he has for me. There is much life yet to live!
